Data42 is an IT consultancy firm specializing in providing solutions for Australia's growing agricultural industry. Their software solutions range from organizing IVF for cattle to orchestrating the international exportation of Australian beef.

I was brought onboard to lead development for two of Data42's applications, IGTIVF and Horse Records. During my time at Data42, I had developed new features, provided bugfixes, documented existing code (including deployment procedures), improved system performance and strengthened security for both applications. As the primary developer for these applications, I had liaised with stakeholders on the feasibility of proposed features and mentored developers during their implementation.

As of 2024, Data42's software is used in approximately 80% of Australia's meat industry.

Software Engineer (Contractual)

August 2022 - April 2023 | Brisbane, Australia

TypeScript
Sass
Vue
NodeJS

Webpack

Klackit provides free mobile phone charging kiosks for venues to accommodate their patrons, assisting in the comfort and longevity of their stay. The kiosks provide an out-of-home advertising (OOH) platform for advertisers to engage their target audience by time and location via Broadsign's API.

I was responsible for developing the back-end handling all requests to/from kiosks, the portal and the chat console. The back-end handles everything from creating new locker sessions, relaying chat messages, administrating users, alerting Klackit when a kiosk unexpectedly goes offline, retrieving historical telemetry data and handling archived data by offline kiosks.

In addition to the back-end, I also designed and developed both the front-end applications for the portal and the chat console. The portal provides an intuitive interface for Klackit's staff to manage all kiosks provisioned within the system, the chat console is used to handle support requests where an agent can quickly and decisively resolve customer requests.

The system was deployed to production in February 2023. As of April 2023, the new system has serviced over 1000 customers and is active in over 100 venues.

JavaScript

Vue

Denver Technology is a company providing IT solutions to the resources and energy industry to solve productivity and availability challenges. Alongside the services offered by Denver Technology is the product Nostra. Nostra is an application which aggregates numerous data sources used to assess project decisions, business objectives and make real-time performance decisions made available in a single portfolio view.

I worked with the Nostra team to introduce new features into the product including interactive data visualisation, automated report generation and SharePoint integration. I had also worked on various prototypes for displaying Nostra's aggregated project data as a dashboard. These prototypes served as glimpses as to what Nostra could look like both visually and technology wise.

Nostra is currently in production for BP internationally and remains a staple in day-to-day business operations at several mining sites.
